I thought she was going to be in the top 3. I can't believe she got voted off AI. It should have been either Jason or Brooke. Don't get me wrong, I like them both as well but I just think Carly has more talent than the two of them. Maybe it's her tattoo. Or it could be because of her past record label. I don't really know. I think American Idol has become more like a popularity contest (as it always have in the past seasons towards the end of the show)...that's why I don't really like watching American Idol anymore.

I agree with you. Carly should've stayed on & I was thinking it could've been her tattoo too. It's gotta be something silly like that.
I agree too. Brooke should go though. She screwed up couple of times already. Can't imagine American still voted for her gesshhh..

American Idol indeed is a popularity contest hence its named American "idol" - idol as in worshiped or admired by people.
I think it's not just about the talent and prowess in singing. It's also about your charisma and how good people react to you.
Yes you may have the best singing voice in the whole wide world yet you do not have the ability to reach out to people - how then can you become an "idol"?
