A lot of you might have already seen this video or heard about it. But before throwing your judgment at me, I want to assure you that my reason for posting it here is not to condemn Oprah. I used to be an Oprah "fan". I used to watch her show everyday when I was still in the Philippines. I love the fact that she helps a lot of people 'coz I know, that is of great value in the eyes of God. But it breaks my heart to know that Oprah denied JESUS in front of millions of viewers! That is so misleading...and yes, that is a disaster!
Jesus is the only way! Here's what the Bible says:
"Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" John 14:6
"But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:33
Isn't that clear enough? No one comes to the Father except through Jesus...and if we deny Him, He will also deny us!
I still like Oprah. Like I said, I don't condemn her at all. In fact, I am praying and hoping that one day she will come to the realization that Jesus is indeed, our Saviour...and that He is indeed, the one and only way! And He died on the cross to save us from eternal damnation!

I think Ophrah meant that if a person lives in a remote area and hadn't heard about Jesus but lives life with kindness, compassion and a clean heart, he can still go to heaven. The others wants Ophrah to know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and nobody gets to the Father, except through Jesus. Some People do pray directly to God, it depends on how they worship, but i don't think there is a right and wrong way in praying and calling God as long as we do His will and do good.
hi lourds... long time no comment here in your site! nway, i'm a fan of oprah too! i used to watch her show almost everyday when i was in college!
anyway... as i understand it... she just meant that either an individual knows jesus or not... as long as he has a clean and loving heart, he is still worth of going to heaven!
that's why today, we really need a lot of volunteers to go on mission of spreading God's word... especially in remote places...
a friend of mine will go to thailand this month for a mission... she will be sent to educate children and teach them God's scriptures that eventually will enrich their lives as individuals!
let's continue to pray for volunteers and missionaries... that many will be sent to spread God's word!
take care
My Husband never likes Oprah, and honestly i don't really care about her too. But i do like her compassion to the poor. About Oprah denying Jesus, well it's her own opinion and belief. But you know what, i do believe time will come that the word of God will be spread all over the world even to the most remote area. after all it's in the Bible.
Del, Jen and afparks, thanks for your comments.
I do agree that God sees the heart of a person. What i'm having a problem with is Oprah saying that Jesus is NOT the ONLY way. In fact, in the Bible, Jesus clearly said this:
'I am the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me.'" John 14:6
Also, in one of the videos, she clearly said that, "we are the universe, or the source of all life, or the creator or God.."
Here's the link to that video:

Now, how can she say that we are God? Isn't that blasphemy? This is what the Bible says:
Isaiah 44:6, "...I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God."
Exodus 20:2-3, "I am the LORD your God...You shall have no other gods before me."
As i've said on my post, I don't condemn her. Not at all. I am just concerned 'coz a lot of people and a lot of Christians are actually believing her. And as for those who haven't heard the word of God yet, they shall definitely hear it. Here's what the Bible says:
Matthew 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
Jen, I shall pray for your friend's safety. You're right, we need more people today, more than ever, to help spread God's word.
Yeah I do agree I don't think it is right for Ophra to say we are God,I haven't seen that though. It is only that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us,in our hearts and God looks in there but we are not God for sure hehe.
Sometimes power and money can be confusing, we have to know where our affection lies, and that's a problem with people as powerful and rich as Ophra. But I did see a video where she said that she offered her life to God or Jesus, I can't remember but it was before she became rich, when she was still starting and she was trying to get the movie "The Color Purple".But it was then, the now for her might well be different.
I do believe Jesus is the way,the truth and the life. He saved us from sin. Satan has been defeated when He died on the cross for us and that's the symbol of the cross, the triumph of good over evil. We do always say in our prayers, "through Christ our Lord, or In the name Jesus...". maybe Ophra had forgotten that...:)
